People blog about other things?

The Bronze HorsemanJust kidding.  I love books. I think about books all the time. I am either reading, listening, trying to write or day dreaming about a book every waking moment of my life.  I really do not understand how people do NOT like books.  It all started when I first read The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons.  I was sooooo caught up in Tatiana and Alexander’s story, that I just couldn’t let them go! They weren’t just characters. It was like they were my friends and not being able to read about them anymore made me sad. Almost depressed, seriously! I googled their names and to my amazement, other people were as obsessed with them as I was! There were people posting movie trailers, casting the book with actors and actresses.  There were people posting their favorite quotes, favorite scenes and discussing the book. Yes, I had stumbled upon goodreads FOR THE FIRST TIME EVA!!!  Tatiana and Alexander were once again alive and discussing them with other people was almost therapeutic (in that it relieved my depression over having finished reading the book before the sequel was published.)

I learned I was no longer alone in my book obsession. There were others out there just like me. Together, we form a community of bibliophiles.  Together we cope.  This blog is my attempt to do just that. There is no cure for Obsessive Bibliophilia. While blogging can help, side effects can include, but are not limited to insomnia, anxiety, agitation (especially when sufferer has had his/her reading interrupted), increased sweating, extreme elation or feelings of happiness that may switch back and forth with a depressed or sad mood, hostility (when the reader is told he/she has to go to bed, or to work or any other place where reading is not possible), rapid heart rate, unusual changes in behavior, and unobtainable expectations of romantic partner (more commonly experienced in women).  Please tell your co-blogger and blogging friends if you experience any of these side effects as, if left untreated, conditions can worsen. Please do not blog about books if you are uninteresting, lack captivation in plots, have no appreciation for setting and imagery, and generally do not like to read. All others… HAPPY BOOK BLOGGING!!!!

I love to read and I love to talk about what I read. So what better way to reach out to so many others who love books as much as I do, than blogging? It is a fun hobby, a great community of booknerds, and it gives me something productive and educational to do with my brain lol.
