Sophie Mercer thought she was a witch. That was the whole reason she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (aka witches, shapeshifters, and fairies). But that was before she discovered the family secret, and that her hot crush, Archer Cross, is an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping Prodigium off the face of the earth.

I didn’t enjoy Demonglass as much as I enjoyed Hex Hall. I still liked it quite a bit though. The characters are interesting and I enjoyed getting to learn about Sophie’s Dad and all the Council stuff going on in England. The story unfolded in a similar way as Hex Hall, where we get little clues but not really enough to figure out what all is going on and who is responsible. I liked that Sophie started to accept herself and really started learning to control her abilities. I also am really enjoying the romance building between her and Archer. My main and maybe only complaint about this book is the non-ending. While the first book wrapped up the current conflict and set up for the next story, this one just kind of didn’t solve the problem and at the end they were just getting ready to go into the big fight that will go down in the final book. So I need to get the final book soon so I can know how it ends, but non-endings are a peeve of mine. So, pretty good second book, not as good as I was hoping, but I still liked it.

Well good, I already bought the final book on audio, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it all ends.
