It’s Day 13 of the 15 Day Book Blogger Challenge, started up by Good Books and Good Wine.
One Two underappreciated books Rose thinks EVERYONE should read:
My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. A simple coming of age love story. Simple as in, no melodramatic teenaged angst, no love triangle, etc. However, this book is not fluffy as some reviewers state. I really enjoyed the characters in this book. I look forward to more from this author. This was her debut novel.
Take Me There by Carolee Dean. I thought this was just going to be a guilty pleasure read. like bad boy and good girl fall in love kinda thing….sorta like Simone Elkeles novels. It was waaaaay better. It shocked the hell outta me and even at the end I wanted to go back and reread. I think there is more to this book than I realized at first.
One underappreciated book Julie thinks EVERYONE should read:
Wow this is a really difficult question. I mean, picking one book, just ONE under-appreciated book, that EVERYONE should read? This kind of requires a selection that isn’t super genre-specific (like I probably can’t recommend a vampire novel ’cause that’s not for everyone). But most of the more literary books I’ve read are main stream book-club type books. So, they seem to be pretty appreciated. But, if I had to pick one that could be more appreciated, it would be The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. This book tells the story by skipping around in the timeline and gives you glimpses of what happened in the past and what the current main character is uncovering. It is beautifully done and I think tells a really interesting story. I read it for book club a while back and we ended up liking it so much that we read another of the author’s books for a meeting.

Oh my….I LOVE The Forgotten Garden. I don’t see how anyone would under rate it.
They don’t know what they are missing. 🙂 🙂
I love ALL of Kate Morton’s books. The Forgotten Garden is the first one of hers that I read, and I wait patiently for her to write another one. If you haven’t read The Secret Keeper, you will want to. In fact, read all of her books. 🙂
THANKS for sharing.
