Feature for Oct 11, 2013 – Activty! Feature your own favorite blogger!

This week the topic was to feature a blogger ourselves. We selected one of the bloggers who participates in our weekly meme, kind of as a thank you 🙂

kimberlyfaye reads

The blogger we selected is Kimberly from Kimberly Faye Reads. Kimberly is a bookworm and photographer who lives outside of Washington, DC. She enjoys YA and NA reads with great characters and a unique story.

Here is her feature interview:

1. One question bookworms hate is “what is your favorite book”. So instead, we will ask – what books/authors do you tend to recommend the most to your friends?
Kimberly: Rainbow Rowell is at the top of my most-recommended list. Always. T. Torrest joined her at the top of the list the minute I read Remember When. I’ve gifted that book, and its sequel, several times! Other authors whose books I recommend frequently include Abbi Glines, Colleen Hoover, Tammara Webber, Simone Elkeles, Richelle Mead, Tijan, Diana Peterfreund, John Green, Gayle Forman, Veronica Roth, Nicole Williams, Stephanie Perkins and Lauren Oliver.

2. What are some blogging resources you can’t live (er, blog) without?
Kimberly: My Google calendar! I don’t know what I’d do without it. Other helpful resources include Evernote, WordPress’ scheduling feature and my Kindle app for iPad for bookmarking and highlighting passages. I did a whole post about the things that make my life easier back in August.

3. Do you tend to read mostly print books, ebooks, listen to audiobooks, or a combination of these?
Kimberly: I mostly read eBooks and listen to audiobooks. I love the portability of eBooks. I listen to audiobooks in the car to make my commute more enjoyable. All that said, I still love bookstores and I enjoy having print books on my shelves, so I often buy hard copies of my favorites.

4. Do you buy or borrow (or receive for free) most of your books?
Kimberly: I still buy a ton of books, even with all the review copies I’m getting these days.

5. What is your favorite thing about book blogging? What is your least favorite?
Kimberly:  I have two for this. First, I love getting the chance to learn about and review books that I might have never heard about before my blogging days. This is especially true of indie authors. There are so many amazing books out there, it’s a privilege to get to read and review them. Which leads me to my other favorite thing: getting to know the authors. It’s so exciting to connect with the writers who create these characters and worlds I love.

My least favorite thing is that sometimes I have to put off reading books I’ve been waiting for in favor of reading copies for reviews or tours. But, that comes with the territory. So many books, so little time! And it all ceases to matter when I find one of those ARCs to be a new favorite book.

This or That:
6. Kindle or Nook?
Kimberly: Kindle
7. Hardback or paperback?
Kimberly: Paperback, mostly.
8. Coke or Pepsi?
Kimberly: Dr. Pepper
9. Laptop or desktop?
Kimberly: Laptop
10. Rose or Julie? (haha jk) Don’t answer that!
Kimberly: Yes!

  1. Wow! I wish I had the opportunity to interview all the bloggers that I featured for this FF. I’ve met Kimberly during STS runs and mind you, she always had these loads of books to showcase to us.

I think Kim and I would get along in terms of her favorite authors. This was really a very informative post, ladies. It’s always good to know a lot of things about our fellow bloggers because it makes me remember them more.

    Current follower!

  2. I love that you did a little interview – what a great idea! I also love Kimberly’s blog, it was nice getting a chance to learn a bit more about her!

Thanks for stopping by – Old follower 🙂
