I’m going to participate in two challenges to help me catch up on my review books!

Challenge #1:

ReviewBooks_sq_2014

The 2014 Review Pile Reading Challenge is hosted by Rachel @ Fiktshun and Reanna @ Phantasmic Reads!

Details:

  • The 2014 Review Pile Reading Challenge runs from January 1st until December 31st, 2014
  • Sign-ups will remain open until December 31st, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific
  • Grab one of the buttons to show off your participation! Parajunkee did a great job with them!
  • You DO NOT have to have a blog to join this challenge. You just need to have some books received for review and a place online to review them
  • Create a sign-up post announcing your intention to participate and link up below. If you do not have a blog, you can link up to your Goodreads profile that shows your 2014 Review Pile Reading Challenge shelf
  • Please link back to the hosts in your sign-up posts
  • This challenge is to help clear up books you’ve received for review. Any format, or any length, as long as you received the book specifically for review, is allowed
  • There will be a kick-off post on January 1, 2014 at both Fiktshun and Phantasmic Reads where you’ll be able to leave your links for any January reviews. (No 2013 reviews.) At the beginning of every month, starting in February, these posts will alternate between both blogs. (See schedule below)
  • If you forgot to leave your review link in the challenge month in which you reviewed the book or the linky list closed before you had a chance to leave it, you can leave it in a future month. (No duplicates.)
  • There will also be monthly giveaways – make sure you check in each month!
  • Use the hashtag #RPRC2014 to share your progress and connect with other participants on Twitter

Levels:

1-10 – Apprentice
11-20 – Journeyman

Like all book enthusiasts who blog, I’ve gotten a bit Netgalley click happy.  I’ve requested a lot of books and my review pile keeps growing as more authors contact me for reviews. I’ve had to become more picky with the books I agree to review, but I still have a lot on the list. So I’m looking forward to this challenge.

I’m going to pick level “Journeyman” for 11-20 books. I hope to read two review books a month, but I also realize I have a lot of life changing events coming up in 2014 so I want to be realistic.

I found a similar challenge that I thought I would piggy back on this one:

Challenge #2:

NetgalleyEdelweissReadingChallenge2014

The 2014 Netgalley & Edelweiss Reading Challenge is hosted by Emily @ Falling for YA.

Details:

  • This challenge will run from Jan 1, 2014 – Dec 31, 2014.
  • Anyone is welcome to join. You do not need to be a blogger, just post your reviews and come back every month to link them up.
  • Any genre, release date, request date, length, etc. counts so long as it came from Edelweiss or Netgalley.
  • At the beginning of each month there will be a roundup post for you to add your reviews.
  • If you forget to link up one month it’s not a problem just add your reviews next month.
  • If you would like to move up or down levels that is completely fine and at your discretion
  • Throughout the year there will be giveaways for Challenge participants, make sure to check in regularly and follow this blog so you don’t miss any!

Levels:

Aluminum – 5 books
Bronze – 10 books
Silver – 25 books
Gold – 50 books
Platinum – 75 books
Diamond– 100 books

Julie Review Avatar    Julie’s 2014 Netgalley & Edelweiss Reading Challenge

I’m piggy backing on the Review Pile challenge since most of my backlog of books to review are from Netgalley. I’m going to pick the “Bronze” level for 10+ books. Really, I’m hoping to reach Silver but I do have a handful of non-Netgalley or Edelweiss books so that might affect this list.
