Guest Post: Top 10 List
When we were asked to put together a top 10 list about anything, we decided that we should go ahead and document the top 10 craziest things that we’ve done in our 18 years of best-friendship. For those of you who haven’t read our blog posts about the trouble that seems to find us when we are together, here’s just a small taste of our escapades.A quick bit about us: Rebecca and Courtney have been BFI’s (Best Friends Infinitely) since the 7th grade. They took their friendship to a whole new level when they became co-authors in 2011 with their first book, Night Marchers, and co-owners of Clean Teen Publishing in 2013.1st Crazy Act: They wore identical lime green dresses with bright yellow smiley faces on them, on the same day, to school… On numerous occasions… Yes, we were atrocious.2nd Crazy Act: They ate three no-bake Jello Cheesecakes in one sitting together in high school.3rd Crazy Act: Courtney convinced Rebecca to leave the bunny slopes on their first ski trip in tenth grade. Courtney picked up skiing right away and Rebecca…not so much. Courtney told Rebecca that they would take an easy green slope. Rebecca ended up stuck on the side of the mountain while Courtney made her way down to get a snow mobile to come and save her poor friend who couldn’t move more than a foot without falling over. At the bottom of the slope, they both learned that they missed the sign for the turn off for the green slope and instead were on a blue diamond! (For those of you that haven’t been to a ski slope, blue diamonds are definitely not for beginners.)4th Crazy Act: Rebecca went to visit Courtney after a surgery in the ninth grade. Her gift to her BFI was Courtney’s favorite: Jelly Belly’s. They stuffed their faces with Jelly Belly’s not realizing that you should pretty much only eat jello after a surgery like that. Courtney ended up being whisked back to the hospital, sicker than ever. Needless to say, Courtney doesn’t eat Jelly Belly’s anymore.5th Crazy Act: Courtney and Rebecca decided to take a bus to get to a store before school started and ended up on an express bus to downtown Dallas with no money to return. They both got in major trouble for skipping school.6th Crazy Act: For Courtney’s sixteenth birthday her mom dropped her and Rebecca off at the lake to hang out for the day. After an hour or so of hanging out, they decided they were hungry. With no restaurant nearby they asked a couple who were putting out their kayaks in the water if there was somewhere they could eat. The couple mentioned a restaurant on the other side of the lake. With no transportation, the friendly kayakers offered to take them across the lake on the back of their kayaks and of course they accepted. Courtney’s mom was not too happy when she got the call to come and pick up her daughter and her daughter’s best friend at this restaurant that was over twenty minutes away from the original drop off point. (It was a big lake.)7th Crazy Act: Rebecca and Courtney, along with their dates, took a limo to homecoming. They had priced out the limo and were excited to find that it was only $60 for four hours. They pooled their money together for the occasion. At the end of the night, they paid their $60 and customary tip only to find the limo driver looking at them like they were crazy. The limo driver proceeded to explain that it was $60 per hour for a minimum of four hours. Teenagers don’t have $240 in cash readily on hand! It was a rough night in which their parents had to clear up their mess.8th Crazy Act: Rebecca and Courtney stalked the set of Bella’s house, Jacob’s House and The Cullen House in Canada prior to the filming of Breaking Dawn. It was amazing, they even got to meet some of the stunt guys.9th Crazy Act: Courtney convinced Rebecca to take a midnight hike to a beach in La Push, WA… With no flashlight and no supplies. They emerged from the woods covered in mud and thankful to have survived.10th Crazy Act: Rebecca and Courtney co-authored 7 books together! It may not seem like a crazy act, but it definitely has been eventful and monumental for our friendship.
