Top Ten Reasons I Love Being A Blogger/Reader
Rose’s List of Top Ten Reasons I Love Being A Blogger/Reader:
- All the many nights of staying up late to “get this one thing posted” haha jk. I actually hate that in fact. I try to schedule my posts ahead of time, but when I get behind it is really hard to get caught back up.
- Responding to comments. It is so much fun to interact with other book lovers.
- Free books!!!!
- An excuse to buy more books????
- A plausible explanation as to why it is necessary for your bf to give up his extra room for your office since the other room is already a library. He thinks its HIS room, but slowly and surely I am taking over. First with a single book shelf and now with a printer and lamp…. next thing he knows, all “his” stuff will be in the closet and I will have an office and a TBR shelf and he will have NOTHING buahahahahaha!!!!! (<—see! That right there is why he should really pay attention to my blog. He had fair warning,am I right???)
- Being a reader is great because it is the perfect way to self medicate without fear of bodily harm or jail time. Unless you drop your kindle on your face at night while reading in bed. That could cause bodily harm.
- Reading makes you smarter….er something.
- Having a blog makes you feel like a “legit” reader.
- The thing I love almost as much as reading a book is talking about a book. So blogging is awesome for that, duh!
- I have had some amazing opportunities present themselves to me since starting to blog… whether its traveling, being on TV, meeting new great friends or simply finding the next great book love of my life, blogging has gotten me there!
Julie’s List of Top Ten Reasons I Love Being A Blogger/Reader:
- Being a blogger means you can go to any and all (bookish and non) events and take notes and act like a fool and no one thinks you’re a fool. ‘Cause “I’m blogging this” is a legit reason to to do things.
- Being a reader is awesome because you get to experience great characters and new ideas at your own pace in your own time.
- Reading provides a passport and instant travel with no airports and taxis all from the comfort of your sofa.
- Blogging about something you love gives you the opportunity to meet others from all over the world who are into what you’re into.
- Liking the same book as someone = new friend.
- Enjoying reading gets you to join book clubs, which allows you to meet great people who love to read as hard as you love to read. And then you get to talk about how much you love to read. And you get to talk books. And characters you love and hate. And fangirl together.
- Blogging is a great creative outlet for all the (not crazy) thoughts we have. Otherwise we’d just go around talking to ourselves because the thoughts demand to be let out.
- Readers can curl up quietly in their corner and won’t bother you for hours (aka I’m raising any future kids as readers).
- Reading develops your brain, for serious. It makes you smart and stuff.
- Blogging gives you the chance to meet so many amazing celebrities – authors!

Reading sure is risk free, unless you count the FEELS. That could be very harmful. Or when you fangirl so hard you trip on yourself or something. Not that I’d know something about that…
It’s also good for free books, I agree! And I think reading does make you smarter. You learn new things, expand vocabulary, learn a foreign language like me if you read in one… It’s very educational. You also learn to weed out crap literature! 😀
Events and books escapism to anywhere and anytime are also two amazing reasons why it’s awesome reading books!
And making new friends: priceless! 🙂
Great lists!

If I find myself with children who do not read, I will seriously question if they are mine. In fact, I will probably withhold affection if they chose not to read. That is not abuse right? I didn’t say I would hit them with books or anything like that…THAT is NO WAY to treat a book!
Lol I loved your lists ladies!! they are brilliant and me grinning and nodding as I read each point <3
Here is my Top Ten Tuesday list if you want to check it out!
