Julie’s Quote:
–David to Tally
(Uglies by: Scott Westerfeld)
I think what is extra cool about this quote is the quote in relation to the plot line. Since Tally is considered an “Ugly” until she has the operation, having David call her beautiful because of how she perceives and understands the world around her is quite awesome.

I need to read this series! Thanks for linking to Quote Me Thursday!
I haven’t read this series, but my oldest daughter did. She had to take a break for awhile because the characters were making her mad with their decisions. 🙂 I like this quote, too. I like the he see beauty in her because of her mind rather than her face.

I can see how your daughter would be irritated at their decisions. This is definitely not the series to binge read.
I’ve heard of this one, but I’ve never actually read it before! That’s an interesting quote though. 🙂

I couldn’t get into the final book of that series, Extras. I did enjoy David and Tally’s love story.

I think Extras is a spin off, right? So isn’t essential to the story arc?
I read the first 3 books of that series, but just could NOT get into Extras!
I bought Uglies before I even started blogging and I STILL haven’t read it yet! I really need to fix that. Really sweet quote 🙂

I do think it is worth the read 🙂
This book has been on my TBR list since I finished the Leviathan series by Westerfeld.

I haven’t read that series, or anything else by this author. How did you like the Leviathan series?
I loved the Leviathan series–steampunk, alternative WWI history. I read the series and then followed it up with Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. Both authors dealt with a unique phenomenon in Russia. It was a weird connection…
