What are some of your bookish goals for the coming year?
Julie
I remember the bookish resolutions I made at the beginning of 2014, and then pretty much ignored them when life happened. Maybe this year I won’t go overboard on creating the list of hope to do in 2015.
- Use the library more.
- Read the books I own, with the help of our challenge.
- Write book reviews within a day or two of finishing the book.
- No more requesting books on Netgalley unless I actually plan to read that book ASAP.
- Write more bookish list posts on this blog.

Hmmm …..I know this year was super busy for me since I decided to go back to school. I did not meet my reading goal and a few other goals I did not meet as well. This year, my bookish goals are as follows:
- Read the books I already own, which is why I am doing our challenge.
- Read more of my netgalley requests
- write some reviews this year.
- Comment on other’s blogs more
- Get my good reads shelves better organized.
Lynn
Would it be wrong of me to just steal Julie’s goals? Probably! Here’s my list of goals:
- Read the books I already own.
- Read my weekly magazines the week I receive them.
- Read and comment on other blog posts.
- Write book reviews within a day or two of finishing a book.
I would love to write reviews within a couple of days of finishing a book, but since I read so many at a time, and tend to finish them in groups, I doubt that’s possible. But all of your goals seem pretty reasonable. And I’m all for setting goals you know are attainable. Good luck!

Guess that means you’d have to write a bunch of reviews in one sitting huh? Not very easy.
Great resolutions! I made some of my own (as well as co-hosting Bookish Resolutions challenge with Michelle @ because reading) so can relate! I want to read more classics, more books that I own, more Netgalley books etc!

Those are great goals too – reading more Netgalley books is a popular one.
Laura, I would like to read more classics as well.
Great goals, ladies. And I wish you luck in sticking with them. I am going to read books I own this year as well! I’m so glad y’all created the challenge. 🙂

Thanks 🙂 Are you making any goals this year?
So glad u are joining us for our challenge, Brandee!!!
Great list of goals! Seems like everyone wants to concentrate on reading from their TBR piles instead of bringing new books home. I need to do this too, but I haven’t written down any goals for this year. Hope 2015 is better than 2014!

Yea I think we all have the hoarding problem 🙂
I’ve stopped going to the library because I’ve been trying to make a dent in my own collection. That’s my biggest aim for 2015 as well 😀
Good goal then 🙂 Will you be joining our challenge?
You ladies have perfect timing! I’ve been struggling to come up with my own bookish / bloggy New Years resolutions, and here you are with 3 perfectly good lists. I might just have to borrow some of these! Good luck with your 2015 goals.

Borrow away 🙂 Curious to see what your goals for next year will be 🙂
Ugh you guys are preaching to the choir about “reading book I already own”. I bought 93 books in 2014 and only read 12 of them…TWELVE! I plan on buckling down on my monthly TBR list and visiting my fantastic library more often to help curb my spending! Good luck with your goals ladies!!
You should consider joining out challenge to read those new books you bought 🙂
Octavia, I think 12 books is an awesome number! I mean,I also think it is awesome that you bought 93 books, so maybe I am not the best judge????
I totally need to read more of the books I own and also bit request on net galley unless I’m ready to read than right that day lol

Yea it is too easy to request too many books. I don’t allow myself to log in anymore heh.
I think my resolution would be to leave off reading challenges, and not to accept so many review copies, which would give me the freedom to read according to my mood. I keep making this resolution every year, and every year I get tempted into challenges and review copies 🙂

Yes turning off my review request feature has been awesome!
Great goals – I have a few of the same 🙂 you should join the Bookish Resolutions challenge hosted by Because Reading and trips down imagination road, having to check in makes mw responsible, so I’m going to do it for the most important resolutions I have.

That sounds like a useful challenge, we might need to look into it.
Read books I already own (that’s a popular one)
Read books I want to read- not just review requests
Read a wider genre variety

20,000 pages is an awesme goal. I’ve only read less than 10,000 this year heh
