Rose’s Quote:
“There was a time when I would have been fine with this. I would have taken any part of you that you that you wanted to give to me and found a way to deal with the rest… I want to be the kind of man you deserve to have… I want to be honorable… I want to be the better man, Kiera, and I am not.”
–Kellan to Kiera
(Thoughtful by: S.C. Stephens)
I like it when an author retells one of my favorite books from the guy’s point of view. This is by far my favorite male pov switch yet! This book made me fall even harder for Kellan Kyle. I like that we get to know how he felt right from the start. I don’t know how I would have felt reading Kellan’s pov first. I probably would have hated Kiera. I do NOT hate Kiera because I read Thoughtless first and understand her own inner struggles. This book really adds something to the trilogy. I loved it! If you haven’t met Kellan Kyle yet, allow me to introduce you!!!

Oh boy! I didn’t think I could fall any harder for Kellen, Rose. But I guess I’m going to! 😉 Great quote! I can’t wait to read Thoughtful.

I know, right!? I thought the same thing, but this one let the reader get to know Kellan Kyle on an even deeper level. I can’t wait for you to read it either!
I haven’t read Thoughtless, but the idea of telling the story again, from another character’s perspective has potential. If nothing else, it should be a fun writing exercise 🙂 Good post!

Thanks, Romona. I have read a few of these books in which the author essentially “re”writes a book from an alternate point of view. This is one is bar far the best!
That’s some heavy stuff. I liked it! I’ve seen this book around and considered reading it. I didn’t realize it’s part of a trilogy. I guess I’ll have to start at the very beginning 🙂 ~ Bel

It IS heavy stuff, that is why I like it so much. Kellan is not just a pretty book boyfriend. There is real “meat” to his story. And it is gritty and real and I loved it!
I’m completely the opposite. Because I read Thoughtless first I cannot stand Kiera. I thought Kellan was yumtastic of course but I connected more with Denny so that whole book just did a number on me. I really do want to read this though and I’m interested to see how I’ll feel after I do. Plus one of these days I need to finish the trilogy. I’ve been too scared to move on haha! I love that quote though!!

I know Kiera was a litte annoying, especially in the first book, but she grows and gets better. I used to live in a small town near Ohio, and I felt like I could sort of relate to Kiera. I enjoyed Kellan so much, I read the whole trilogy. The books got better and better… Hope you give it a try again sometime!
