Julie’s 2015 Audiobook Challenge Update:
In my Q1 update post I mentioned that I am hoping to reach the Marathoner level. I know I can reach the lower levels of “My Precious” easily so I kind of want to challenge myself, since audio books are like the only way I read these days anyway. (Thank you 3 hour round trip commute Houston traffic!) Below are the two levels I’m looking at meeting.
- My Precious (I had my earbuds surgically implanted) 30-50
- Marathoner (Look Ma no hands) 50+
Currently, as of the end of Q2, I have read 26 audio books and am currently in the middle of one more. So it looks like I’ll make the 50+ mark if I keep at this pace.
I have embedded my GR shelf below.
The sign up is closed 🙁
The Red Queen… Hummm definitely a good book! Very good writing, impresive world-building but the similarities with Hunger Games and Red Rising have me rolling my eyes often

Wow! Very impressive, Julie 🙂 But I’m not surprised: you are one dedicated bookworm <3

I wouldn’t say dedicated, as much as addicted;)
forgot to mentioned I’m currently listening to “Red Queen”

Ooh how are you liking Red Queen?
Great job! I should have signed up since it is also becoming the way I “read” nowadays. The girl on the train is next on my list. Audio books are expensive so I’m only borrowing from the library for now. I wished they had Red Rising! I read half way through it and I want to finish it! 🙂 happy listening

You can still sign up I think. Might as well if you’re doing a lot of audio books anyway, right? I’m almost done with Red Rising, it is a pretty good audio. I’m listening to mine through one of my subscription accounts.
I’m actually really cheap and won’t pay a dime for audiobooks because they’re so darn expensive! Or maybe I’m just looking in the wrong place? So I usually listen on my Kindle and there’s this little woman robot that reads the book so when I’m busy, I listen to my books that way instead of actually reading them. 🙂 I would love to reach marathon level!

They are! That’s why I do subscriptions like audible and audiobooks and get a lot from the library when I can. That kindle voice creeps me out lol
