Β Admit it, you have a crush on an author or two. Who is it? Why are they so crush-worthy?
Β Julie:
I have an author crush on Rachel Vincent, and I’ve gobbled up most of her books within the past few years. Her Shifters and Soul Screamers series are among my faves, and I love how I get sucked into her characters and worlds she creates. I also have an author crush on Colleen Hoover, for the way she writes conversations and banter between her characters. So much fun just to read her writing. I bet her grocery list is entertaining.
Lynn:
My author crush is definitely Rainbow Rowell. I want to pack her up and carry her around with me all the time! First, her characters are the best. I feel like I could easily fit into any of her books and be best friends with Eleanor, or Cath from Fangirl, or Beth from Attachments, or Georgie from Landline. And I’m totally in lovc with Levi. If I ever really need a laugh, or a good cry, I read Fangirl. I mean, really, check out these quotes. Ms. Rowell couldn’t be more perfect, to me.
Underneath this veneer of slightly crazy and mildly socially retarded, I’m a complete disaster.
To really be a nerd, she decided, you had to prefer fictional worlds to real ones.
There are other people on the Internet. It’s awesome. You get all the benefits of ‘other people’ without the body odor and the eye contact.
Plus, Ms. Rowell is excellent on social media, especially tumblr. Where else can you see Harry Potter, Sherlock, Tom Hiddleston, and Star Wars all in one place? Plus reposts of all the amazing fan art for her books. If I had the time, I imagine this is what my tumblr posts would look like. And finally, who else would write a REAL book based on the fake fan-fiction book one of her character’s writes?
Only Rainbow Rowell, that’s who.Β
[…] know how much I love this author (I even mention her in our author crush post). So then you know how excited I was to read her recent release. The premise for The Stars Never […]
Goodness! What a question! I have author crushes on so many authors but I’ll keep it to a few. I crush on Richelle Mead. Her books are always a great read and she’s the sweetest person, in person. I crush on Rachel Vincent for the same reasons. π Ooh, and Patricia Briggs – not only does she create fantastic characters, but she’s also very generous and kind. Okay, I really could go on and on, but I’ll stop here. π

Richelle Mead is another great choice. I’d love to meet her someday, she does sound awesome π I need to get off my butt and start reading my Patricia Briggs collection.
Oh, my list could go on forever, but Diana Gabaldon is at the top of my list for giving me Jamie. *sighs*

Thanks, Daniela!
What an awesome topic! I can totally relate since I have a couple myself. Colleen Hoover being my #1 author crush. I am in awe of her talent. Her ability to use the same words I use every day but arrange them in a way that evokes such emotion… just wow. Plus, her sense of humor slays me. My other would be Abbi Glines. As with Colleen, I love her ability to create characters that I love and story lines that capture me, although in a different way. I met her last year at a book event and she sat right beside me as I was waiting for the meeting room to open up. I was a little starstruck but proud of myself for striking up a conversation. π

Julie and I can both agree with you on Colleen Hoover. Her sense of humor is awesome. And I keep meaning to read some Abbi Glines books. And good for you, Tanya for striking up a conversation. I don’t think I could have kept my cool in that situation!
