Shouldn’t Phantom of the Opera have 2 leads off it? I know Christine doesn’t end up with the Phantom, but she does end up with Raoul, right? Or is my memory of the book that bad?!

I read the book after falling in love with the musical too! And I thought she ended up with Raoul too but I guess he wasn’t the main character so that wasn’t taken into account.
This is a fun way to look at some classic/favorite love stories! It’s interesting that death is such a common outcome but unrequited love isn’t. And it’s sad that so many favorite couples end up separate. Love, love, love…love is all you need! *haha* <3

I think in these classic type novels a lot of unrequited love ends up in death – murder or suicide heh.
