Let’s focus on some authors who we just LUV to follow on social media. These authors are awesome at it, posting all the time and sharing fun stuff with us.
Julie:
You know who rocks at social media? Colleen Hoover rocks at social media. From her Instagram videos about her life as well as when on tour for books to her heartfelt Facebook updates. Like this one. There is even a Facebook group for and by her fans, because fans love her so much.
I also enjoy following Rachel Vincent on Twitter. She often talks about her silly cat and playing pranks on her family. She shares her writing process and tips. She also is very outspoken against e-piracy.
Lynn:
I agree with Julie on Colleen Hoover. She’s always entertaining.
I would add Jay Crownover’s Instagram. Hot dudes. Quirky shoes. Shout outs to Cora Carmack. Definitely worth the follow!
On Twitter, I’d recommend Laini Taylor and Rainbow Rowell. Laini Taylor’s feed is completely random, which I just love. Kabuki masks. Her daughter.
I can’t think of a purer expression of the beauty of childhood than that Clementine 100% believes she can be Wonder Woman when she grows up.

Shoutouts to interesting articles. Fan Art. (LOVE the fan art!)
Rainbow Rowell’s Twitter, like her writing, make me want to be best friends with her. She’s just completely profound. And honest.
Just forced myself to recumbent bike so that I would feel more at peace eating a fudgsicle. But I was always going to have that fudgsicle.

I’m sure there are other authors who are great at the whole social media thing. Do you have any favorites?
John Scalzi and Jim C. Hines are two of my favorites.

Is there something special about how they post?
I have a feed on Tweetdeck specifically for Authors I Love – that way I don’t miss out on their messages. I love Evelyn Skye’s tweets – that’s the first specific author that comes to mind. I just now followed CoHo on Instagram and Rainbow Rowell on Twitter because of this post.

Ooh good idea to have a list of authors to keep up with. I have that on twitter as well, but I rarely check in anymore.
Yep, I absolutely agree about CoHo – she gives great social media. 😉 I wasn’t following Jay Crownover or Cora Carmack on Instagram but I am now. I have to admit that I’m not that great at following authors on social media because I myself am not that great at being on social media. Maybe I should designate a day to spend on social media just to see what all my favorite authors are up to!
That’s what I do, Brandee. Check in every once in a while!
