We enjoyed participating in the Book Blog Discussion Challenges for previous years, so here we go again for 2017!
The Discussion Challenge is hosted by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction and Shannon @ It Starts at Midnight!
The Details:
- The 2017 Book Blog Discussion Challenge runs from January 1st until December 31st, 2017.
- This challenge is to help get us discussing books and book blogging, so talk about whatever you want as long as it’s relevant to book blogging. Discussions can be book related or book blogging related (or generally blogging related—no discussions about things that are completely off-topic like travel or fashion, etc). Discussions can also be about you personally if it’s a get-to-know-you type post.
- Use the hashtag #LetsDiscuss2017 to share your progress and connect with other participants on Twitter.
- NEW THIS YEAR – Every month, we’ll feature our favorite posts from one randomly chosen participant.
The Levels:
1-10 – Discussion Dabbler
11-20 – Creative Conversationalist
21-30 – Chatty Kathy
31-40 – Terrifically Talkative
41+ – Gift of the Gab
We’re simplifying things here at Chapter Break and figured this challenge sign up post was a good way to announce that. We have been doing a weekly Chat Between Chapters feature, and the #ShelfLove challenge which had monthly challenge post topics in the past.
For 2017 we are scaling back both a tad bit. We plan to do Chat Between Chapters discussions every other week rather than weekly. As for Shelf Love, well we already announced the discussions will be quarterly.
So this year we’re going for the Chatty Kathy level goal. Yes, we did meet our Gift of the Gab goal last year, but after a while it gets difficult to have new fun topics each week for you without getting repetitive.
I don’t think I’m ready to commit to regular discussion posts, but I’m setting myself the goal of participating in more discussions as a commenter, and helping to keep the conversations going! Good luck with the challenge!
I am participating in that too. Good luck!

Ooooh I feel you guys! I have SUCH a hard time sometimes! Okay fine, all the time. There are times I feel like I have talked about something before- and sometimes I HAVE, and have to scrap the post. Not easy, that is for sure! But I am so glad you’ll be joining us again!

I agree that coming up with a post every week that doesn’t feel repetitive can be hard—especially when you’ve been doing it for a few years! I’m glad you’re still joining us, even if you decided to reduce your frequency a bit.
