We enjoyed participating in the Book Blog Discussion Challenges for previous years, so here we go again for 2018!
The Discussion Challenge is hosted by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction and Shannon @ It Starts at Midnight!
The Details:
- The 2018 Book Blog Discussion Challenge runs from January 1st until December 31st, 2018.
- This challenge is to help get us discussing books and book blogging, so talk about whatever you want as long as it’s relevant to book blogging. Discussions can be book related or book blogging related (or generally blogging related—no discussions about things that are completely off-topic like travel or fashion, etc). Discussions can also be about you personally if it’s a get-to-know-you type post.
- Use the hashtag #LetsDiscuss2018 to share your progress and connect with other participants on Twitter.

The Levels:
1-10 – Discussion Dabbler
11-20 – Creative Conversationalist
21-30 – Chatty Kathy
31-40 – Terrifically Talkative
41+ – Gift of the Gab
We’re simplifying things here at Chapter Break even more. We plan to do Chat Between Chapters discussions once a month now. As for Shelf Love, we have decided not to formally continue the challenge – though we will still keep a square on the bingo card!
So for 2018, we’re going for the Discussion Dabbler level goal. Even though we’re probably gonna meet the next one up, let’s just coast this coming year.
We did, however, meet our 2017 discussion challenge goal of Chatty Kathy! We did our chat between chapters posts mostly every other week, though we skipped some holidays. And we also counted some of our what books taught us and other new features as a discussion post.
I need to do more discussion type posts as well. Good luck with the 2018 challenges.
I’m going back to this challenge this year, too. I haven’t done it in three years, so I’m only committing to 1 post per month.
