For Father’s Day, let’s chat about books our fathers have recommended.

Julie Review Avatar Julie:

Growing up I always saw my Dad reading. It was typically something sci-fi, maybe with aliens or with some space travel. I would even grab him a scif-fi book from our bookstore at college (and read it before coming home on the weekend) every now and then. It’s great. Some of the ones I caught him reading include:

I picked up my love of car chases and adventure books from my dad (well, and big band jazz!). He would pass his Dirk Pitt novels down to me after reading them. I’ve moved on from Dirk Pitt, but here are some other adventure books that I think my dad (or anyone!) would enjoy.

Has your dad recommended any books to you? If so, which ones?

  1. Oh how fun! My dad got me hooked on Louis L’amour Westerns and later we shared Dirk Pitt adventures and Patrick O’Brien age of sail classics. 🙂

My dad read Louis L’amour books as well, Sophia Rose! I just prefer my westerns with a bit more romance!

  2. Ooh, interesting. I don’t think my dad’s ever recommended me many books; he stopped reading fiction when I was a kid, but he did once tell me to try reading Ellis Peters’ Brother Cadfael books. He was not wrong on that!
