Mini Reviews Wrap Up February

Here at Chapter Break, we don’t always write a full review of every book we read. Well, now we decided to do these monthly wrap-up posts with roundups of our reviews this month and mini-reviews to fill in the gaps. Enjoy!

I almost didn’t read any books this month, thank you ear infection. But I got these super short ones in!

I also read Lucky Suit because Lynn suggested I do. Listened. It’s short, and adorable, and I enjoyed the audio.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy: Douglas Adams Live in Concert (MP3 Book): Fun performance, with little behind the scenes stories of our favorite Hitchhikers characters.

Aye, Robot (Rex Nihilo #2): Oh man. This book is exactly what I needed. HILARIOUS SHENANIGANS. Space pirates. Drug running. Cults. A guy who had his consciousness removed to keep from being distracted from Space Sirens. And a robot parrot to top it all off! This series is definitely worth checking out!

The Poet X: I liked it. I think? Definitely not my usual cup of tea – as it’s more a book of poems than a book with a plot. But it did hold my attention. The author narrates the audio book, and does a really good job. I do wonder how autobiographical the novel is?

Lucky Suit: Adorable. Nerdy. Romantic Comedy. Had my attention at Zachary Webber as one of the narrators. Kept my attention at free. Downloaded it at super short. I’m loving the Audible Originals!

I re-read Persuasion. Still just as great. Anne’s sisters are still horrible. Captain Wentworth is still the best.

Three Secret Cities: Jack West and his team are back at it, saving the world once again. This time with a seriously heart attack level cliff hanger. I loved the action. This time there is was some serious heart. I might have had a twig or two in my eye while I was reading. Well done again, Mr. Reilly. Now get on that next book!

Mr. Perfect: Meh. I’m not really impressed. I listened purely for the Shelf Love square in bingo! I am enjoying the relationship between Sam and Janie. They are one of those oil and gasoline couples. With loads of fighting and making up. But the suspense aspect of the plot isn’t very suspenseful. More creepy. And the technology is definitely dated by the publish year of 2000. Audio narration is ok. I’m still not comfortable with listening to sexy times. It’s just weird.
