“The adventure and dangers kept the pages turning – delivering quite a few surprises and heart-pounding moments. And generously balanced in were moments of peace and beauty.” — Sunshine Lake Reviews
“I loved every deep ravine-gun blazing-twist of this book.”— Glenda (Goodreads reviewer)
“Linda Broday has spun another great adventure that is full of surprises, has you rooting for the outlaws and people of Hope’s Crossing, and wanting some ‘lawmen,’ ‘businessmen,’ and other ‘questionable men’ to find their deaths. It’ll make you question who should be called an outlaw in this period of time.”— Stephanie (Goodreads reviewer)
“How am I going to keep my hair back now? I’ve lost all my pins but that one.” [Nora]“Maybe you can tie it into one of those pretzel things.” [Jack]
“I wear black clothes for every person who’s been wronged, beaten down, deprived of a living, and for the poor and hungry. Why did you discard your bustle?” [Jack}“It was in my way, and I’m tired of wearing what men decide women must.” [Nora]
“I’ll stand by your side and hand you the bullets.” [Nora to Jack in her wedding vows!]
I’m a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of over twenty historical western romance novels and short stories. I reside in the Texas Panhandle on land the American Indian and Comancheros once roamed, and at times if the breeze is just right, I can hear their voices whispering in the wind. Texas’ rich history is one reason I set all my stories here where cowboys are still caretakers of the land. I’m inspired every day by their immense dedication and love for the wide open spaces. When I’m not writing, I collect old coins and I’ve also been accused (quite unfairly I might add) of making a nuisance of myself at museums, libraries, and historical places. I’m also a movie buff and love sitting in a dark theater, watching the magic unfold on the screen. As long as I’m confessing…chocolate is my best friend. It just soothes my soul.

[…] hearts. I thought I’d share a swoon-y heart-filled quote with you today. Then head to my review, where you can check out Jack and Nora’s sassy quotes as […]
Linda- as I have told you before, your books are timeless. You create characters who live FOREVER IN MY HEART. I don’t know how you do it, but you hit that tender spot every time.
I agree, Tonya. Linda’s characters definitely hit the heart!
I absolutely loved this book and its characters and I know all readers will love it too!
Fully agreed, Stephanie!
Love this review — you can tell how enamored you are with the characters and their chemistry and sass with each other.
Thanks, Kristine!
Lynn, you made my day! Wow! Your amazing review brought tears to my eyes. I’m like a mother who was told her baby is beautiful. Jack and Nora were such fun characters to write and more than once I had to stop and just giggle. The way they played off each other made me laugh and the serious moments made me cry. Nora was one of the strongest women I’ve ever written. She just grabbed the bull by the horns and gave his head a yank. Thank you so much for reading and liking this.
I have a Christmas novella in September in Longing for a Cowboy Christmas with saloon girl Rebel and outlaw Travis. Then in January comes Tait Trinity in The Mail Order Bride’s Secret.
Thanks, Linda! I do always enjoy your books. But so far, this one is certainly my favorite!
I absolutely loved this book. Linda did an amazing job and everyone is going to love it!
Bless you for the kind words, Miss Tonya. I’m a happy author. Sharing my stories with others is the reason why I do this. Thank you for liking my work.
