Watch your ankles and find out in this clever, rhyming picture book about a very naughty kitty cat. Max is a cat. He attacks. From socks to strings to many a fish, attacking, for Max, is most de-lish. But how many of these things can he actually catch? Well, let’s just say it’s no even match.

I received a complimentary copy of this book as part of the tour.
“He wants to eat the fishies” – Hank, 4 years old. Yep that’s my son getting into and enjoying books that I read to him. I love to read. And I super love that my son loves books too.
I enjoyed reading this one twice in one day – first for me – then for my son. Max Attacks is about a super feisty feline who wants to attack everything that catches his eyes. Socks and strings. Especially the fish!
Max Attacks is told is cute and catchy rhymes and is a story that is fun to read aloud! The illustrations are adorable and really portray Max as kitty full of energy and sass.
My son rates it two thumbs up!

Kathi Appelt is the author of the Newbery Honoree, National Book Award finalist, PEN USA Literary Award–winning, and bestselling The Underneath as well as the National Book Award finalist The True Blue Scouts of Sugar Man Swamp, Maybe a Fox (with Alison McGhee), Keeper, and many picture books including Counting Crows and Max … Attacks.

The real Max was neither blue, nor did he have a switchy tail. In fact, he didn’t have a tail at all. He was an American Bobtail, almost fire red, and in his prime he weighed in at over twenty pounds. For seventeen years, he served as best friend and roommate to the author’s oldest son Jacob Appelt, who adopted Max from the local animal shelter. Together they wrote music, traveled, entertained friends and family, and kept an eye on the neighborhood parrots. Even though Max was famous for attacking anything that moved, he was, and always will be, the biggest, sweetest cat ever! ————————————-

It’s cute! We were driving to dinner yesterday and he asked if we were going to the fish tank sushi restaurant (we were going to a different one) and then he said remember the blue kitty who tries to eat the fishes? ?
Great Review! Definitely sounds like a great book for my nieces and nephews!
Two thumbs up from a 4-year-old! Doesn’t get any better than that! Thanks for the post! (Oh, and your “Like” button hasn’t worked for a while– it just says “loading.” But I LIKE!)

He says two thumbs up a lot when he agrees with something or likes an idea. Must be something they do in preschool haha. I don’t know why the like thing isn’t working, something glitching with Jetpack. I’ll see if I can turn that piece off.
