Here at Chapter Break, we don’t always write a full review of every book we read. Well, now we decided to do these monthly wrap-up posts with roundups of our reviews this month and mini-reviews to fill in the gaps. Enjoy!
You get my children’s books reviews here. The rest are in the full review posts.
Oliver the Ornament is a great box set gift that comes with the ornament that is Oliver, and his story. The story is a holiday tale about ornaments and their origins, the story about how a couple met and started their family, and also contains an important message about bullying. If you want to get the box set gift with the ornament, you can grab it here.
Be Big!: Beatrice’s First Day of First Grade This was a great book to help ease the first day of school fears. Benjamin the Butterfly tags along with Beatrice on her first day of school, and reminds Beatrice to be big and brave. The book reminds kids to be themselves and enjoy their new adventures. A great way to help kids face their fears of new things.
The Christmas Bunny’s Wild Adventure A fun *tail* about holiday characters lending a hand (or a paw) to each other! The Easter Bunny hops so fast and so far that he jumps all the way into Christmas planning! Santa lets Bunny help, and together they deliver all the presents. Then the Bunny returns to his holiday planning and asks for help from a neighboring holiday. This lovely book is fun for the holidays and teaches a great lesson to kids about friendship and working together to help each other’s tasks get done.
I wrote reviews for all the books I read this month, save this one. I know. Shocking!
Aurora Rising: I was super excited about reading this book. I loved the Illuminae Files series by Kaufman and Kristoff. Aurora Rising lived up to my expectations! I loved it! A great group of characters, from the Buck Rogers-esque Aurie to the alien warrior, I am in love with every single one of them. I especially appreciate the diversity of the characters. Great story. Action. Bar brawls. Sarcastic A.I. Humor. Heart. So much more than just a space-story. Full cast recording on the audio book enhances the listening experience. I’ll watch the heck out of this TV show if it ever gets made!
