See what books you already have in your collection and this will help you determine the space needed for your books. The design and layout are all up to you.
Here are a few tips to keep in mind when creating a home library that works for you.
Finding the Perfect Spot for Your Library
Are you turning an entire room into your home library or just a space off to the side in the living room? There are a few things to consider when deciding the perfect spot, like where to avoid putting a home library and spots that are just right. Places to avoid when mapping out your library are against outside walls or in areas that are near food and drink. Outside walls are subject to temperature changes which can lead to the growth of mold or mildew that can spread to your books.
Areas that you should put your home library are under your bed or in a corner nook. Creating space under your bed keeps your books out of the way and protected. Finding a corner nook in your home naturally makes a designated area for you to store your books. Add in some shelves and you’ve got your home library.
