We’re chatting about covers on Chapter Break. ‘Cause you know we all judge books by covers, whether we admit it or not. We judge the style, the color and font choices, and just the overall look. That might not keep us from reading the book, but we do still judge.

Ooh wow. This one definitely gets my attention. It reminds of the the Plus One cover with the concept of invertedness. Makes me wonder – who are these people? Why are they reaching for each other but just out of reach?

Then I had to read the blurb to find out more. I like the colors of space and planet on the cover. But it does scream generic sci-fi. And the blurb sounds like it has some unique characters.

I think the font is quite fun. I like fun blocky all caps fonts with character. And the letters here have character! And are easy enough to read.

I’m somewhat intrigued but I don’t know if I’d read it.

Well, I’m on the fence about this cover. I like it ok. But I’d like it a lot more if there weren’t two people randomly floating across the image. I find the people distract from the lovely moon (planet?) and cool space background. Is there a point to the people? And can we even call them people? Should we imply aliens? The person at the bottom of the cover is bending at an angle I don’t think a human spine can accomplish. (Or at least not my human spine!)

I do really like the font, planet, and stars. Those are very cool! The purple planet works well in the center of the cover, especially with the dark space off to the sides\bottom. I especially like the sparkly color choice on the font. All titles should sparkle.

I’d say the majority of the cover works for me, and at least got me to read the blurb. So it’s getting the job done!
