We’re chatting about covers on Chapter Break. ‘Cause you know we all judge books by covers, whether we admit it or not. We judge the style, the color and font choices, and just the overall look. That might not keep us from reading the book, but we do still judge.
For a sword cover, this is gorgeous. Some of our readers may know my dislike of sword covers. Their generic boringness. But this isn’t that. This is passable as a good cover.
I love the font. Love it, the color, the boldness, the curvature of the blocks.
I like the armor the character is wearing, it is both elegant and strong. The glowing sword is visually interesting too.
I probably wouldn’t pass this by, maybe would even give it a blurb check.
I get serious LORD OF THE RINGS vibes from this cover! It’s very elvish feeling for me. Unlike Julie, I don’t have an issue with swords on covers!
I like the armor/ hand gauntlet / jewelry situation going on. That is super cool looking, with or without a sword. I also like the wolf design on the sword.
I like the blocky nature of the title. The gold color choice stands out well from the silver of the sword and black background.
This cover is not overly busy and definitely caught my eye! And I did read the blurb!
