Julie’s Review:
Treasure Hunt is such a cute book. There is so much to enjoy, so let’s get into it.
I loved the siblings working together to have fun. The older brother did an amazing job of creating a fun after-school activity for his younger twin siblings. I loved that – let’s not just play video games or watch TV – there is other fun to be had!
I also loved the creativity of the treasure hunt; there were clues and steps to find each next clue. Who doesn’t love that? There’s even a page in the book showing you how to make your own puppets!
I just wish there were more pages to show more about the kids’ puppet show and who the audience is. The book was a bit on the short side.
What’s also great is the book includes reusing something rather than trashing it. Great for our world!
The illustrations were lovely, and I especially loved all the expressions on the kid’s faces. Very well done. As part of Multicultural Children’s Book Month, this is a diverse read with lovely characters. I especially loved the name Flor for one of the kiddos. What a lovely name!
I read this again with my son and he said he liked it a lot.
