Here at Chapter Break, we don’t always write a full review of every book we read. Well, now we decided to do these monthly wrap-up posts with roundups of our reviews this month and mini-reviews to fill in the gaps. Enjoy!

Breath by Breath This is a sweet bedtime read with the lovely twins Flor and Roberto, who we met previously. In this book, big bro leads the twins through a yoga body scan and takes them on an adventure to help them fall asleep. This is great to read with kids to help them learn breathing techniques to help them relax after a crazy day of endless energy. I previously commented on the lovely full-page artwork and enjoyed it here. It’s another great addition to this series.

Otherwise, I have full-length blog post reviews this month. You can see linked below.

BEST STRANGERS IN THE WORLD: Look. I’d listen to Ari Shapiro read the phone book. And when I saw his memoir on sale last month, I snapped it up. And I’m glad that I did. I enjoyed the deeper insights into the stories. And remember many of the stories referenced within when they broadcast originally. (Peat the cat!) I’m not generally a memoir reader, but this one is certainly worth the time!

THE WORST FLEET IN THE SHIP: I took a chance on this series by a new to me author. And it paid off! This one introduces us to the motley crew of the Persephone, the worst ship in the fleet, at the a$$ end of the galaxy. Worst Fleet is clearly the set up to a new series, introducing new characters and worlds. Captain Mendoza is at his worst when the novel starts, but develops into a captain we can appreciate. The rest of the crew of misfits is equally entertaining. Great action. Some peril. Overall quick and fun read.

AN IMPOSSIBLE IMPOSTER: This adventure with Veronica Speedwell and Stoker was meh for me. Nothing horrible. But also nothing remarkable. It’s lacking that frizzle between Veronica and Stoker that I enjoy! We do learn more of Veronica’s history, which she has kept to herself throughout the series. We also learn that a cheese wire would make a very good garrote! Angèle Masters continues her excellent narration of Veronica’s voice. But this time around, I struggled to differentiate the male characters’ voices.
