What if the fairytale was always a lie?
Seven years after her family’s murders, Eva is attacked by a magical creature and abducted to the faerie realm. When a handsome fae saves her, Bash reveals that he must bring Eva to her faerie soulmate to stop a world-ending Curse. She relents, but only for the opportunity to find answers about her parents’ deaths.
As their journey progresses, Eva delves into her previously hidden magic—and grows steadily closer to Bash. But when she meets her prince, she soon learns that all is not what it seems. While mystery and intrigue surround her, Eva takes it into her own hands to uncover the truth. But what she discovers is beyond her imagination as she unravels the fae’s web of lies.

Author Interview
- At what point did you decide to be an author and what was your path to publication?
I was part of the tech layoffs…and it was the best thing that could have happened to me, since it finally gave me the time to write The Other Side of the Mirror. I wrote the first sentence for it years ago, but it wasn’t until I fell in love with romantasy as a genre and actually had the time to write that I finally decided to sit down and see what happened.
- What do you do when a new idea jumps out at you while you’re still working on a book? Do you chase the squirrel (aka “UP syndrome”) or do you finish your current project first?
I’m pretty set on finishing my current project first, but I write down snippets of ideas all the time! If they don’t’ work for my current work in progress, they become part of the next idea.
- Describe your writing process. Do you outline, plot and plan, or is your writing more organic?
I am absolutely a pantser, as opposed to a plotter. I love taking ideas and running with them—writing down a scene that’s stuck in my head then figuring out where it goes from there, and how it connects to where I want the story to go. However, I am a big fan of the reverse outline, especially with worldbuilding in the mix.
- Tell us what you enjoy most about writing romantic fantasy.
I’m a huge fan of romantasy since you get all the yearning and butterflies of romance with the magic and mystery of a fantasy world. I also enjoy that there are inherently higher stakes in a fantasy realm, where the usual rules don’t apply.
- Describe the book in 10 words or less for people who are just learning about it.
Spicy romantasy with fated mates, found family and a dark twist! (Sorry, I realize that’s 11!)
- What is your favorite line from your book?
“I’ve been broken more than once…and I’m still finding a way to put myself back together. But I need you to trust me to know my own mind. My own heart. And I think I’ve always known it beats for you.”
- What is your take on book boyfriends? Do they actually exist? Or do they set the bar for “real life men” impossibly high?
I think it’s good for real life men to have a high bar to aspire to and for women to expect a certain level of love, support, and romance from their partner. I also think that smutty books in general can be very good for relationships—and that real life boyfriends, husbands, and partners generally benefit from their partner reading romance!
