Pack Pledged series Book 1
Paranormal Romance, Romantasy
Date Published: July 24th
What do my childhood bully, an ex, a shunned pack healer, and my deceased
father’s best friend have in common?
They’re all part of the new clan I’m promised to. A prophecy
from the pack witch sees me ripped from my college graduation, drugged, and
brought home. Thrust into the spotlight of a pack that despised me for being
the sole survivor of a house fire that ended two powerful bloodlines,
I’m out of my element.
Forced to choose between the start of Ragnarök or my own desires, I
embark on a journey with men I don’t want or trust. As the corruption
and threats come from the shadows, the options become clear, find common
ground or become pawns in a game far bigger than ourselves.
Why does the greater good have to be so freaking painful?
Author Interview
What do you do when a new idea jumps out at you while you’re still working on a book? Do you chase the squirrel (aka “UP syndrome”) or do you finish your current project first?
I often find myself with two projects in current stages for this very reason. If I get a strong “pull” toward something new while I’m currently deep in the process of creating, I’ll write down concepts. Plot points, etc, so I don’t lose it completely. If it’s very insistent, I might dedicate days to write on different stories.
Describe your writing process. Do you outline, plot and plan, or is your writing more organic?
The first part of my writing process involves dreaming. I take time to get a feel for my characters, what they want, why they can’t obtain it, and their history. I’ll create a board with all of my main characters live with a few key details. The next step is a loose outline. I like to know where the story starts, the direction it’ll head in, and the very ending. I’ll loosely plot it out, leaving room to “discover” new facts or let the characters reveal things as I go.
I often make scene cards to keep me on task, and then I dive in. My first goal, is to simply tell myself the story. I get it all down, with notes on things I want to go deeper in or need to research further.
From there, the revision process begins.
Do you have any odd (writing) habits?
I like to match candle scents to books and burn them while I write. I also determine the vibe of the story and create an environment in my office that matches. That could mean watching/listening to music, hanging photos/ story boards, and dressing in a way that continues the vibe.
Have you ever experienced writer’s block? How did you deal with it?
Yes. Writer’s block is often my big flashing danger sign. It let’s me know I haven’t been refilling my well, or taking the breaks I need to. I usually step away from writing, read, watch my favorite shows, and get outside. I also find flexing my creative muscles in a non-writing area always helps.
What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
When I’m not writing, I’m reading, crafting, and taking road trips. I love learning so I often take online courses, and read non-fiction, or watch documentaries.
