For this discussion post, we are joining the Tell Me Something Tuesday challenge run by Jen at That’s What I’m Talking About. Here’s the topic for this week. Who is your ideal book boyfriend/girlfriend?

Julie Review Avatar Julie:

A good book boyfriend has many layers. He might seem aloof or difficult to understand at first, but when you get through his shell, he is fiercely protective of the main character, and deeply romantic. He says swoony lines that we want to include in our That’s What He Said meme. He might do things we don’t understand, but he has his good reasons, and we only swoon for him more when we find them out.

My favorite book boyfriend is Dimitri from the Vampire Academy series. He was the first book boyfriend and remains my favorite. Though many have rivaled the position.

LynnpicLynn:

Depends on the last book I read. 😉

But what Julie says is spot on – I like a book boyfriend who has great one liners, usually with a sarcastic streak. I also like the dark and broody kind of book boyfriend.

I’ve been mostly off romance lately – unless they are rom coms. And I need some plot with my romance. So it’s been mostly mystery or fantasy for me lately. One could even say sci fi has a bunch of good book boyfriends! Let’s go with Cletus from the Winston Brothers series. Cantankerous with a capital C. Blunt and a schemer and not ashamed of it. His book is awesome, so much so that author Penny Reid added a side series of mystery solving with Cletus and his wife. But I’d also second Dimitri. And probably throw in Xaden for good measure.

What about you?
