We’re chatting about covers on Chapter Break. ‘Cause you know we all judge books by covers, whether we admit it or not. We judge the style, the color and font choices, and just the overall look. That might not keep us from reading the book, but we do still judge.
Holy moly! What even is happening???
The hands, the face, the crow. It’s all one scary blend. But why is the arm hairy? Do we have werewolves? Or is that a bird creature?
I mean, it certainly gets my attention, but it’s giving terrifying horror story. I am not certain I even want to read the blurb.
*goes to read blurb*
Oh, it’s like Bird Box, which I haven’t seen but know enough about that I don’t want to. Not into the paranoid people randomly snapping and killing each other tropes.
Well, the colors work very well on the illustration. The title font is easy to read and all. It’s just not my cuppa.
Still don’t understand the bird or the hairy arms.
Ugh. Yeah. I’m with Julie on not even wanting to read the blurb on this one! The eyes in the middle of the hand are a big turn off for me. Eyes do not belong in hands! Especially when the bird in the had doesn’t even have eyes!
Yes – this cover definitely gets the attention. And yes – I’m out! Not a fan of horror. Don’t even want to know what this one is about. Unlike Julie, I didn’t even bother to read the blurb.
What are your thoughts on this cover?
To be fair, the eyes are on the face (which the hands are mostly covering). But, yeah, this book is probably not one I’d ever read. If you’re a fan of this type of book, I would think the cover would be intriguing, though!
