HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF CATS WORKING AT A MUSEUM ???

Catherine the Great, in 1766, recruited stray cats to protect her beloved Hermitage Museum from rodents. Generations later, to this day, cats are still working there, protecting the artwork and doing their zany mischief…tune in for a splash of fun!

Award-winning author Viviana Falleti has a new book out The Cats’ Museum. This spunky, historically-based book contains illustrations from the world-famous artist, Victoria Fomina. Victoria has just recently won an international award for the illustrations in this book. Publishers Weekly / Booklife and Kirkus have given The Cats’ Museum great reviews, and it has received the Mom’s Choice Award.

Just for your info, this is a high-quality, hardcover, oversized book (11” x 10.5”). This larger size makes the exquisitely-detailed illustrations even more beautiful.

Little Feather Press is becoming the go-to place for the parent who is “hungry for wholesome.” Happy reading!

Julie’s Review:

The Cat’s Museum is a beautiful book about my favorite animal. I can’t speak to whether it is historically accurate, but the fact that cats live at the Hermitage museum in St. Petersburg, Russia is known. And apparently there is a specific day where the guests are allowed to meet the cats! I visited the Hermitage as a teenager and it was absolutely spectacular. Knowing there are cats who keep the area mouse-free is even more perfect.

The book’s illustrations are absolutely stunning. Just perfection! I love how vivid they are, how detailed and elegant. Very well done! Hat’s off.

The story is super fun too. The cats have a special day when the Queen gives them a special meal, and after the meal they sneak out for an epic cat party! The fancy cats with their fancy clothing and dancing were a delight.

I read this with my almost 10 year old and I think that would be the perfect age, as a younger reader would not understand some of the big words used. But even a young reader can enjoy the frolicking cats and the beautiful illustrations. My son loved The Cat’s Museum (he’s a cat lover, too, after all) and I did as well.

Here is an example of the beautiful artwork.
