Challenge Details
- Runs January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024. You can join at any time.
- The goal is to find a new love for audios or to outdo yourself by listening to more audios in 2024 than you did in 2023.
- Books must be in audio format (CD, MP3, etc.)
- All genres count.
- Re-reads and crossovers from other reading challenges are allowed.

- Grab the button and do a quick post about the challenge to help spread the word. You can post on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or X, Threads, Mastodon, your blog etc. about the challenge.

Julie’s 2024 Audiobook Challenge:
I kept my goal low again this year. It is hard to listen to audiobooks or do much reading in general when we move so much, and this was another moving year. Though I had to drive my own car this time, I got some audiobook time while driving across states. I find it impossible to read or listen to books when traveling with family unless my husband is listening to his own and I can plug in my earbuds. It’s mostly during boring spreadsheet work that I listen to audiobooks when no one else is here, and I have no meetings.
My goal:
- Stenographer (can listen while multitasking) 10-15
My status:
I was super happy by mid-year, I had already met my goal of 10+! Anything past that is extra awesome WINNING THE CHALLENGE. Now, I’ve exceeded the entire goal range! WOOP WOOP!
By mid-December, I’m already at 21 books! I might have to increase my goal for next year!

Lynn’s 2024 Audiobook Challenge:
Yes. Yes I did listen to a lot of Audiobooks last year. 72% of all the books I read last year. But looking at that next level of 50+ books is unrealistic. That’s my whole reading goal for the year!
I’m sticking with the same goal as last year as well. It’s doable and still a stretch with looking at some really big books down the line to read.
My goal:
- My Precious (I had my earbuds surgically implanted) 30+
My status:
Clearly, I’ve been listening to A LOT of books! More so than I sit and read. 52 books! I’m up to 77% of all the books I read were audio books. And that’s 10 more books listened to than 2023. It’s all about the shorter books, if you as me. I might push myself and level up to 50+ next year. That’s a bit scary! But sometimes, we need to challenge ourselves.

I wonder why not all the books are appearing in the montage.
