We love recaps around here, they’re right? Check out our 2024 reading from My Year In Books website and using Goodreads.
2024 in Books
Here is my 2024 Year In Books:
I really like the Aura – Fantasy Aficionado! It’s about right, I do like a good fantastical story, but I have specific types of fantasy I like. Such as: urban fantasy, YA fantasy, fantasy romance. NOT epic fantasy as much.
I would like to see the genres broken down a little more specific but this works for a good quick recap!
Here’s also my Goodreads 2024 Year In Books Recap:
I record all the books read, so those for book club, those for review, those with my child, etc. Gotta count them all!
So my shortest is a kids book, and the longest is Lynn’s fault ha!
**Adding the Audible 2024 Update**
Interesting how my top month and longest listening sessions coincide with our move and me driving across states.
Not at all surprising my top genre is Sci-Fi & Fantasy. That’s a big duh.
Hah! I recall Julie being the one to decide we should read those Rebecca Yarros books, not me!
Here’s my year in books as well. I’d like to point out I read more genres! And I don’t remember reading 31 romance books.
And yes – I’ve been on a mystery kick lately. Lady Sherlock, Veronica Speedwell, Finlay Donovan. Bring on more lady mystery solvers!
And here’s my Goodreads Year in Review:
And clearly those big books do not help the total book count. But they sure help the page count!

My aura was romantic mischief maker this year! This is such a fun site. I hope he is able to keep doing it every year. It is like StoryGraph, but just takes your books from Goodreads, so it is nice and easy! You guys had a lot of good books this year. I started Fourth Wing at the end of last year, and now I have book 2 to read soon! Probably this month before the third one comes out, lol.

Oooh I love the sound of romantic mischief maker! Good luck with Iron Flame. It is inTENSE.
It looks like you both had great reading years this past year! I think it’s great that you include the children’s books, Julie. It’s a good way to capture some of the memories of reading with your child. I hope you both have a wonderful New Year!
