For this discussion post, we are joining the Tell Me Something Tuesday challenge run by Jen at That’s What I’m Talking About. Here’s the topic for this week. What are your blogging/reading goals for the new year?
We are turning this into a 2024 year reading wrap-up, so we will also share some of our least favorite books of the year.
Julie:
Hmm, reading and blogging goals, huh?
We do have some blogging goals, such as doing at least one monthly Chat Between Chapters post, and one monthly Chat About Covers post.
I would also like to see us bring back some other features we have done – like maybe Books Taught Us, and it’s been a while since we’ve done a That’s What He Said.
As for reading, I do an annual Goodreads total books goal, and also we participate in the Audiobooks challenge. My audiobooks goal is 15+ audiobooks for 2025. My Goodreads goal for 2024 was 52 books, and I beat it by quite a bit, so I think I will set it at 65 for 2025.
Also for reading goals is to participate in at least one book club per month. I do love book clubs. Lynn runs a book club (virtually now that we both moved away) and I want to participate in more of those. I have also joined some local book clubs here.
So these are my book and book blog related goals.
Lynn:
Yeah – what Julie said. I don’t have specific blog related goals. I should probably figure that out at some point. But bringing back some old features would be an easy way to do so. I always enjoy a book to movie review. 😉
I also have Goodreads and audiobook goals. Both are currently set at +50. We’ll see how that goes.
I’ve been looking for a local book club to get out and meet people. But two book clubs a month is a lot of someone else choosing what I read. I’ll keep looking though. Maybe something will stand out at some point.
What about you?
We are also linking up our discussion posts with the 2024 Book Blog Discussion Challenge hosted by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction and Shannon @ It Starts at Midnight!
Sounds like great goals. I love that you’re able to continue your book club from afar. I’ve never been able to get into book clubbing. Part of it is that I have a packed review schedule, so taking time to read another book on top takes planning. I also don’t tend to enjoy the books that book clubs read. I do like doing Anne’s Read Along, which is like a virtual book club.
