Ellie is a lively little chick who's always ready for an adventure. But there's one thing Ellie loves even more than exploring – EATING!
Among all the delicious treats scattered around the barnyard, Ellie had a favorite: the rainbow.

The rainbow isn't like the ones in the sky. It's not made of colors painted by raindrops and sunlight.

This rainbow is made of something much tastier.

Guest Review:

I picked up Eat the Rainbow, Ellie because I’ve been looking for a fun way to get my toddler excited about fruits and vegetables. And this book did not disappoint.

Ellie, the little chick, is such a lively and lovable character. In this story, she’s not chasing clouds or jumping in puddles. She’s on a colorful food adventure.

What caught my attention right away was the unique concept: Ellie’s version of the rainbow isn’t made of sunlight and raindrops but of juicy, vibrant fruits and veggies.

My child was hooked from the very first page. The idea of building a rainbow with food totally clicked, and the colorful illustrations kept them engaged the whole time.

We ended up naming the colors together—red apples, orange carrots, yellow bananas, green peas, purple plums. We even went hunting for similar foods in our kitchen afterward.

What I appreciated most was how the book doesn’t try to “teach” in a heavy-handed way. Instead, it gently encourages healthy choices through Ellie’s curiosity and excitement.

The rhythm of the story is fun to read aloud, and it created the perfect moment for us to talk about trying new foods. Honestly, this book made snack time more fun.

My toddler even asked if we could “make Ellie’s rainbow” the next day and happily added a few veggies to their plate just to complete the colors. That’s a big win!

We’ve read other Ellie books before, and the charm is consistent across the series. Ellie always feels like a friend, learning new things alongside the kids who read her stories.

If you’re looking for a sweet and engaging book to spark your little one’s interest in colors and healthy eating, Eat the Rainbow, Ellie is a fantastic choice. It’s now one of our go-to reads!
