We’re chatting about covers on Chapter Break. ‘Cause you know we all judge books by covers, whether we admit it or not. We judge the style, the color and font choices, and just the overall look. That might not keep us from reading the book, but we do still judge.

Have I finally found a sword cover that I don’t hate? YES!
If you have been here a while, you know I can’t stand sword covers. They are usually so uninspired and bland. Like, ooh, I got a weapon on the cover; look how creative I am. But this?
THIS IS BEAUTY.
Like: somewhere in the interwoven gorgeousness of the purple roses (also near and dear to my heart), snakes, and vines, there’s a sword.
I love the purple and gray/black. It’s like my vibe. My very first website was this vibe.
The intricate designs on the metal are intriguing, and the snake is always a good touch for some mysterious, creepy stuff. I also like the sparkly stuff between the vines.
So, yea, I want to read this real bad just because of the cover. And the booktok hype. But I would totally pick this up in the wild (bookstore) and read the blurb and want to take this book home with me.
Plus, we already know I like shifters and paranormal stuff and romantasy.

I like this one, too! Mostly for the whole purple, grey, and black vibe. The cover is very cohesive. And the sword feels very secondary.
I absolutely like the stars in the background, how the thorny vines looks like lightning, and how the jewel in the handle looks like an eye.
The shine-y\metallic title font works well with the rest of the cover.
I at least read the blurb and meh. Shifters and paranormal are not my thing. I prefer my swords in historic context!
What are your thoughts on this cover?

The cover would make me pick it up to read the blurb for sure, it’s beautiful!
