We’re chatting about covers on Chapter Break. ‘Cause you know we all judge books by covers, whether we admit it or not. We judge the style, the color and font choices, and just the overall look. That might not keep us from reading the book, but we do still judge.

Ok but I do enjoy a silly joke of a cover! The holiday and spooky vibes combined are my favorite this time of year. So, I like the gingerbread cookie with skeleton design and Santa hat. What can I say, I’m a spooky girl at heart, always.
The font of the author’s name is really neat – but the bright white is jarring – like it makes my eyes do things. The title font is good though, the red on the whit is a good contrast. Not sure I like all that yellow font though on the green. Not holiday themed colors like that. Plus I’m not a fan of long taglines that distract from covers. And now we have four different colors of text on the cover.
But the green gradient cover color is a nice touch. Overall, this is kind of an interesting and curious cover. I’d pick it up to read the blurb. But probably wouldn’t purchase to keep on the shelf.

I also think this is a silly cover. And I like it! I baked cookies for family all weekend. And if I was the kind who decorated cookies, I could totally get behind skeletons on the gingerbread cookies.
I agree with Julie on the yellow font. Yellow is not a color that’s ever easy to read on images. I do like the fonts on the title and author’s name. They stand out and are easy to read.
Overall, I like this one. Conveys what the book is about (a mystery cover should!). It is pleasant to look at. I put it on my TBR shelf!
