We’re chatting about covers on Chapter Break. ‘Cause you know we all judge books by covers, whether we admit it or not. We judge the style, the color and font choices, and just the overall look. That might not keep us from reading the book, but we do still judge.

I both like and don’t like this one LOL

I like the bright colors, and the snowy landscape looks good. I like how the cover is blue, soo much blue, but the balance is good between the blue, white, and in between.

I don’t know how I feel about it being cartoony while realistic. I think it’s messing with my brain. The falling snow, both in the cartoony zoomed in snowflake shapes, and the small dots, is what’s getting me.

The author’s name being storm, while the cover is in an actual snow storm, well it tickles me.

The heart-shaped smoke coming from the chimney is a cute touch.

The font, I both like and don’t like how it blends into the snow. It’s a cute effect don’t get me wrong, but also kind of confuses my eyes when reading it. Also the font style makes me think it’s a COHO book.

It took me a really long time to find the words “Alaskan Hearts” series name hiding on the cover, which shows it’s not a good choice for placement. Just feels awkward where it is.

Overall, it did catch my attention, and I might read the blurb, but I don’t know if I’d pick it up.

Hah. I didn’t even notice the heart-shaped smoke originally. But I can get behind a log cabin in the snowy mountains vibe.

I like the cartoon-drawing style on this cover. It conveys winter and snow. Without the harsh reality of snow. I really like the mountains in the background. They are about my skill level with mountain drawing.

The title font and author’s name are well done. Easy to read. Also like they have snow on them.

As Julie said. The cover caught my attention, and I’d read the blurb. Success in my book.
