We’re chatting about covers on Chapter Break. ‘Cause you know we all judge books by covers, whether we admit it or not. We judge the style, the color and font choices, and just the overall look. That might not keep us from reading the book, but we do still judge.

This is a very colorful cover for a cover so simple. It’s just a bottle sitting in the grass, but it’s creatively done actually. At first it feels like color overload but I kind of like it. The bottle having bright magical sparkles like fireflies is cute too.
I do feel like it has WAY too much text on it. I love the main title font. The purple pattern and the swirly text is gorgeous. I also like the author names being in a different font, and both have great colors and are easy to read. But then we have the sub title, which isn’t necessary but is fine. But then another separate title or something else at the top? I can’t even tell the relevance of the “Poppy’s Potions” wording. It’s not in the book listing title. It’s just odd.
So, I kinda like it, and I kinda don’t like it. I’m not sure if it’s enough for me to pick up and read the blurb.

The colors are my vibe with the greens, blues, and purples. But the busy-ness is not my vibe. My eye doesn’t know where to look. I get firefly vibes in a jar? Maybe? With grass? I guess? Doesn’t do anything for me.
I also don’t get the three different titles? Which on is the actual title? Even more if there is no relevance for “Poppy’s Potions”? Why even put that there? I do like the swirly purple in the title font. All the fonts are easy to read, which is a plus.
Overall, magic books do not appeal to me. I’ll call this one a pass for me.
