Paranormal private eye. Grim reaper extraordinaire. Whatever. Charley Davidson is back in Darynda Jones' Third Grave Dead Ahead! And she’s drinking copious amounts of caffeine to stay awake because, every time she closes her eyes, she sees him: Reyes Farrow, the part human, part supermodel son of Satan. Yes, she did imprison him for all eternity, but come on. How is she supposed to solve a missing persons case, deal with an ego-driven doctor, calm her curmudgeonly dad, and take on a motorcycle gang hellbent on murder when the devil’s son just won’t give up?
Julie’s Review:
So you’ve already read my reviews for the first two books in the series, so by now you know I’m a huge fan of Charlie’s sassy kick ass grim reaper self. While still being light-hearted in the one-liner department, this third book has gotten darker. The betrayals keep coming, Charlie keeps getting tortured (seriously, how does this girl not learn to protect herself better?) and the cases Charlie has to solve are both bit disturbing. Charlie continues to learn about her awesome abilities, which I find so exciting. I can’t wait to see what else she can do. I’m also excited about the new guardian Charlie has. I thought I knew who the guardian was going to be, but I really like who it turned out to be. Looking forward to book 4.
Isn’t Darynda hysterical. I am basing this off from the only book that I have read in the series, the first, but I look forward to reading more in the series myself. Glad that you liked it.

Yea I’m enjoying her writing style in this series. Didn’t enjoy it so much in her YA series though.
Keeping it short and sweet is such an awesome way to review a book! I still intend to try out this series, because of the great concept. Can’t wait 🙂

It is hard to review a series like this and have a lot of new things to say heh, so short reviews end up working out 🙂
