I have a hard time continuing to review this series – I mean how many times can I repeat how awesomely sassy and fun Charley Davidson aka Ms. Grim Reaper is? And how many times can I say how hoTTTT Reyes is? And Cookie the silly and crazy sidekick – still awesome. I skipped reviewing the 4th book because it sort of felt a little filler, more of the same, so there was nothing new I could say about it. This one – well it had some special moments, that is for sure. Not only is Charley solving some disturbing cases, and discovering more of her special abilities, but her relationship with Reyes is definitely taken up a notch, or twelve. Does it get hot in that apartment, or what? Yea, I’m definitely enjoying them being together in their corporeal forms. But, I’m not too sure what to make of Reyes’ request (demand?) at the end of the book. Guess I’ll have to use a credit to find out.

Have you read the Charley Davidson series? I wanna know what you think! If not, I definitely recommend it.

  1. I have exactly the same problem! Whenever I review a Charley Davidson book I can’t emphasise enough just how hilarious Charley is and how swoon-worthy Reyes is 😉 I’m up to date on the series at the moment and while the last book wasn’t my favourite I’m still a big fan. I hope you enjoy the rest of the books and great review!

I’m hearing that about book 8, so since it isn’t at the library in audio form yet I might not want to spend a credit on it and I might just wait it out and take a break from the series for a bit. I’ve already read books 6 and 7 (and scheduled the reviews).

  2. I love it that this series sounds great even in its fifth installment. As much as I loved the first book, I really have to continue with this series.
It can be hard to review a series over and over. I hate parroting the synopsis, so that can lead to repeating all the same reasons why we like it. No worries. Repeat away. It keeps me on track to continue!

Yes, definitely continue with the series. I might group some reviews into one later but doing a book at a time just isn’t working heh.

GIFs are a good idea! I keep forgetting about them, but I also am not too good at finding the right ones to use.

I couldn’t agree more on the Charley Davidson series. Love it!! Charley is snarky but has a kind heart. Reyes, as you mentioned, is hot, Hot, HOT. And all the secondary characters are just as much fun and are as well developed. I haven’t read the whole series yet, I’ve been skipping around, but the newest one, Eighth Grave After Dark, knocked me out it was so good!!

Ooh I’m on Seventh Grave now. I hope the 8th one shows up at the library soon 🙂
