There's always one more grave to dig
Lately, life has been unnaturally calm for vampires Cat Crawfield and her husband, Bones. They should have known better than to relax their guard, because a shocking revelation sends them back into action to stop an all-out war . . .
A rogue CIA agent is involved in horrifying secret activities that threaten to raise tensions between humans and the undead to dangerous heights. Now Cat and Bones are in a race against time to save their friends from a fate worse than death . . . because the more secrets they unravel, the deadlier the consequences. And if they fail, their lives—and those of everyone they hold dear—will be hovering on the edge of the grave.
Julie’s Review:
Up From The Grave is a fabulous end to an exciting paranormal series. The Night Huntress Series happens to be one of my favorites for reasons I have stated before, so reading the finale is a bit bittersweet. In fact, I bought the audio when it first released, and waited too many months to read it. Cat and Bones are a wonderful team, and their cast of friends, frenemies, and outright enemies are exciting too. This finale is so emotional with gut-wrenching fear, sadness, and devastation at some of the goings on, but thankfully the series ends with our heroes sailing off into the sunset, or something like that.
This series finale has it all:
- The races on the brink of war
- Demons, being nearly indestructible
- A twisted, evil man doing horrible stuff
- Best friends who do *anything* for each other
- So much bloodshed
- Cat and Bones
- Bones walking around naked
- Passion, and sexy times
- Revenge
- Pink tears and heartbreak
- The Voodoo Queen
- Amazing vampire abilities
- Ghouls
- Family ties
- And more.
For serious, read this series.
I’m so glad you enjoyed Up From the Grave! It wasn’t my favourite in the series but I thought Jeaniene Frost ended the series really well 🙂 Great review!

I think the first book was my favorite.
I love this series too. I actually listened to the book as soon as it came out. I then went to a book signing with her a few days after the release. Because I had finished the book, we were able to talk spoilers after everyone else left. She hopes to eventually write a book with the new character introduced in this book (name redacted to prevent spoilers LOL).
Also, did you see that she has plans for Ian’s book. Tweet:”Since I get asked this a lot, Ian’s book will come after Into The Fire (Vlad & Leila 4) and the final Broken Destiny book (still untitled.)” **throws confetti**

Oh how exciting!! I was wondering if she was going somewhere with the girl’s story line, because what an interesting character indeed!! And Ian’s book! Yay!
I love this series too, Julie. I haven’t read this last one yet because I’m not ready to say goodbye. *ha* But I’m glad to know I have such an exciting reading ahead!
