Julie Review Avatar Julie’s Review:

Orion’s Kiss is a fun fairytale retelling. The story goes, that Zeus cursed the seven Pleiades sisters – six to die, and Merope, the youngest, to watch. Orion is the one cursed to kill the sisters.

Lifetime after lifetime, reincarnation, again and again, she experiences first the visions, and then the deaths of her sisters and nothing she tries can stop it.

This lifetime Meriah has a plan. She will kill Orion’s reincarnation to end the curse.

As they say, things don’t work out as planned. She never planned to fall for “Ryan.” She never planned to team up with him in the ultimate quest to break the curse.

The story starts off strong and keeps you following Mer and Ryan’s interactions. It begins with a car accident, where Ryan’s car hits the first sister to die. Mer kidnaps Ryan, and keeps saying she will end him. But, she just can’t. She’s no killer. As she gets to know Ryan, she learns he is just as cursed as she.

Their fates are so tangled up (literally and figuratively) that they cannot escape the curse.

But passion builds quickly and ignites a heroic plan to take it up to Olympus to end the curse once and for all. Zeus has long forgotten, hasn’t he?

Together with each of their best friends, our heroes work to put together a plan of action.

I enjoyed the plotting, the scheming, the plotline of trying to find out who the sisters are and trying so hard to protect them, then failing.

Mer is determined and driven, but many lifetimes of existence hasn’t made her any less of a teenager.

Ryan, well he turns out to be very honorable, for someone who’s name she has cursed under her breath for lifetimes.

The final battle, the solution to the curse, it seemed a bit convenient. But I’m happy it turned out the way it did.

Overall, an enjoyable book. Quick and fun, my type of read these days.

The audio narration was great – I really liked the pacing and the voices. Perfect fit for this book.
