I wanted to use this quote as a rewind because Mal. Mal is awesome and self-sacrificing. He thinks giving her up is for her good. But of course we know otherwise, what the girl wants is for her own good, right?
I read the first few chapters of the first book before I left on my business trip. I hope to get back to it soon!
