Here at Chapter Break, we don’t always write a full review of every book we read. Well, now we decided to do these monthly wrap-up posts with roundups of our reviews this month and mini-reviews to fill in the gaps. Enjoy!

The Catterfly is Born book is so adorable. Loved reading it with my four year old. The illustrations are simply gorgeous and the fun lessons to teach the caterpillar/butterfly life cycle are great. I also loved that the book teaches acceptance of those different from us and celebrates what makes each of us special. Great preschool book!

Rivals! Frenemies Who Changed the World: Another gem from the Audible Originals collection. This one is non-fiction and I liked it! It’s great for those random facts to throw out at parties when you cannot think of any topics of conversation. Topics like the proper pronunciation of Adidas or Arron Burr’s life after that fateful dual. Very entertaining. Good narration, with a full cast of background narrators. Mary Queen of Scots as an 80’s Valley Girl and a stabbing scene stand out as hilariously well done. Check this book out!

The Brink of Darkness (The Edge of Everything #2) : I gave up not so patiently waiting for this book to be released in audio and broke down and actually read the book. And I’m so glad that I did. I loved the first book in the series and this one lived up to my expectations. Honestly, I don’t know what it is about this series that I love. They just hit me in the feels. The characters are great. The setting is great. The story is imaginative. The writing is well done. For me, it’s a bit of everything, all wrapped into one great story. 12/10 would recommend.

The War Outside: A lot of feels in this book. A book about WWII internment camps is not normally my cup of tea. And honestly speaking, I wouldn’t say I ‘enjoyed’ reading it as much as it opened my mind to topics that I wouldn’t normally think about. Yes, I had some issues, especially with the ending, but I’d still recommend reading it.
