Yazzy is a creative girl, always sketching out her next adventure. She loves yarn, and she loves to knit! Her neighborhood park is dull and rusty, but Yazzy has a grand plan.
With a little help from her friends, Yazzy’s knitted wonders transform Penny Park into a fuzzy rainbow of warmth and color. What yarn-tastic idea will Yazzy think of next?
The book includes a “History of Yarn Bombing” page for readers who are not familiar with this creative and whimsical type of art.

“As a teacher, it’s refreshing to find a book that exposes children to an alternative art form. I’m inspired by Yazzy’s story, and I know my students will be, too.” — Deborah Horwitz, Art Teacher, The Emery/Weiner School, Houston, Texas.

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
Yazzy’s Amazing Yarn was so sweet, and so pretty! The illustrations so vivid and colors so festive.
I’m happy to report my four-year-old enjoyed this book as he is a big fan of colors. ALL the colors. Rainbows, specifically, since they beautifully display all their lovely colors. This is what made me excited to read Yazzy’s Amazing Yarn to my kiddo, knowing all the bright fun yarn will entertain.
As an adult, it is fun to learn new things through a children’s book. I was not familiar with Yarn Bombing and loved learning about the exciting craft turned public beautification project by a local Texan!
What I enjoyed most, was Yazzy’s desire to make things beautiful again. She saw a run-down park that held special memories for Yazzy’s mom, and she yearned to make it lovely. With the help of her best friends, she turned a rusty playground into something fun and lively again. That’s the sort of life lesson children should be learning – how to love and improve the world around them.
Great book to share with sweet children in your life.
