Ellie's adventures never take a day off. This time, she's rocketing off into space with her best buddy, Teddy. On this out-of-the-world trip, there are countless things to do!

Ellie sees sparkling stars, passes colorful planets, and lands on the moon.

The moon has craters, big and small, where Ellie and Teddy can jump and roll.

Over there, the sun shines so bright. But when Ellie draws close, she steps back in fright.

Ouch, it’s blazing hot! The heat feels like a fiery bite.

While the sun is too hot to bear, Saturn's rings twinkle in the frosty air. Beneath this chilly, icy frost, we can build a snowman with a carrot nose.

Next, Ellie glides down the blue space mountains. But, oops! She takes a tumble, and suddenly, the whole adventure takes a new turn!

Ellie lands with a soft thud. Wait, wasn't she just cruising down those blue space mountains, feeling the cool breeze rush past her? Where is she now?

In this fun adventure book, Ellie inspires young readers not to fear the unknown but to embrace it with curiosity and courage. As she explores uncharted territories, she learns that every twist and turn in life's journey is an opportunity for exciting discovery!

Guest Review:

If you’ve been following Ellie’s journey like we have, you’ll know that this little chick never runs out of energy or imagination. And in Little Ellie’s Big Adventure: Planets, Rockets, Get Ready to Fly Outerspace!, she takes her biggest leap yet, straight into outer space.

As a parent who’s read countless picture books over the years, I have to say this one stands out by tapping into a young child’s curiosity, creativity, and budding sense of adventure.

In this book, Ellie blasts off into space with her fluffy friend Teddy, and what unfolds is an imaginative space tour that’s more about how space feels than how it works. For toddlers and preschoolers, that’s exactly the right approach. Instead of complex explanations or overwhelming facts, the story offers rich, sensory-driven experiences.

The sun is too hot, the moon has craters to jump in, Saturn’s rings are icy and magical, and blue space mountains are just begging to be slid down. It’s a story that invites kids to play with big ideas.

The language throughout the book is playful and rhythmic, and it flows in a way that makes it really enjoyable to read aloud. There’s a nice balance between action and description, so you never feel like it’s dragging or getting too dense for younger readers. The sentences are short and punchy, so I think it’s perfect for little attention spans while still holding enough charm for repeat readings.

What I personally appreciated most is how the story introduces early space concepts in such a tangible, age-appropriate way. For instance, my child might not be ready to understand what a gas giant is or how the solar system works. But he definitely gets what it means when something is “blazing hot” or “frosty cold.”

The book invites little readers to experience it, to feel it, to imagine themselves right there next to Ellie, bouncing in moon craters and dodging fiery sunlight.

The illustrations are bright, expressive, and full of whimsy. The planets are colorful and full of personality, and Ellie is as endearing as ever. I like that the art doesn’t aim for scientific realism, rather, it encourages children to dream big and see space as a playground of possibilities. It’s not about getting every planet’s color right; it’s about igniting that first spark of interest in the stars.

Another thing I noticed is how the story subtly encourages resilience and curiosity. When Ellie takes a tumble, it adds a little twist that keeps the momentum going and reminds kids that even adventures have surprises. But that’s part of the fun.

So if you’re looking for a story that feels both fun and enriching, this book is a great pick.
