ISO Books:

As readers, we are always looking for our next book to read or a stack to fill our TBR shelves. This is your opportunity to ask using our Armchair Book Expo Book Suggestion Generator (aka YOU!). Are you wanting to expand your horizons with minority characters? Are you in search of your next book club read? Do you want to explore your graphic novel or comic book options? Or, are you looking for a book that broaches a mental health or childhood issue to help you grow in understanding and knowledge in your personal life? YOU ask and YOU answer.

You know what’s awesome? Recommendations are awesome. We actually have a whole section (**points to the menu above**) of recommended titles based on genre and stuff. You should check that out.

As for an ISO rec… I’m really getting into the spin doctors like Marissa Meyer. If you loved the Lunar Chronicles, read Heartless. If you think retellings suck (I used to, because all others that I have read have been underwhelming) try her books on for size. Anyone else have amazing authors to recommend that take a well-known story and spin it up brilliantly?

Recommendations are awesome. And probably why my TBR list is thousands of books long. When someone tells me about a book they loved, I instantly want to read it.
For my ISO rec, one of my favorite authors is Laini Taylor. If you like high fantasy, you’ll love her books. Or if you are afraid that high fantasy is not your thing, you’ll love her books anyway! Her written words are so magical, visual, and can’t be beat. Check out her latest, Strange the Dreamer. The downside of these great books is they take years to produce. I could use some recommendations of similar authors to tide me over while I wait for the next book in the series.

Cozy mysteries is a genre I haven’t really gotten into so I don’t have any good recs, but would be curious to hear about a really good one.

Unique, lazy, either way 🙂 YES I agree with you so much fun sharing wonderful books with each other!

  1. I second the Heartless recommendation especially via audiobook. Narrator Rebecca Soler was fantastic and she narrated the Lunar Chronicles as well. =)
