Let’s chat about the Characters we’d name our children after…
Julie:
We had the hardest time naming our son. I wanted to come up with bookish names, but for the most part, my ideas were TV-show character inspired, not so much book character inspired. Neither of these became the name of our kiddo though.
If I wanted to go family heritage with my son’s name I could have easily named him after Dimitri from The Vampire Academy. Because Dimitri DUH! A legit Russian name.

One name that was in the running kind of was August which is a variation of our tragic Augustus/Gus from The Fault in our Stars. And also I was watching Covert Affairs at the time.

Lynn:
Julie, as a life-long Covert Affairs fan, you should have totally gone with August!
For me, I don’t have kids or pets, so this is all very much hypothetical. But I always think, why would you want to saddle your kid with a name like Ophelia or Hermione? That’s a lot to live up to!
For a boy’s name, I’d lean towards James. Or Malcolm. Or Alexander. Or Rhys.

For a girl’s name, I can see Amelia. Or Laini. Which, ok, sure, isn’t technically a character. But as a favorite author, totally counts!

And for twins, definitely Cath & Wren.

What about you? Any literary names in your family?
