Introduce yourself and tell me about what it is that you do.

I’m Bertrand Coruscare–I’m currently a student in the pacific northwest pursuing a degree in English. I’ve been a storyteller for as long as I can remember, and I’ve been working on The Torch Series for about half a decade now, and I’ve recently finished it. Someday, I’d like to solely write books for a living, so we’ll see how this first one goes.

Tell me more about your journey as an author, including the writing processes?

For me, writing stories has been part of my life since I was a young kid. Whether it’s writing short stories with siblings, plays to perform with friends, poems–there are always new stories popping into my head, waiting for me to tell them. The Torch is no different, I got the idea seemingly at random, the story took off and developed in my head, and all I had to do was write it down. As far as my writing process, the only thing I require is a quiet, comfortable room and a warm drink. Once I have those two things, I let the story do the work and see where the words take me.

Tell me about your Book (that you want to talk about) / Story (that you want to highlight)

 To summarize, the story is about a group of young adults searching for a friend that goes missing. Amid the searching, they find themselves thrust into a war they never knew existed, which spawns more conflicts than those with which they started out.
